PROMO PIECE

Branding & Clothing Collection / 2024

My logo is derived from a contemporary approach to German blackletter typography. The letters M and N, my initials, are blended harmoniously while remaining distinct. Originally designed in my Type III class, this logo has continued to serve as my main form of self-branding. Through the utilization of repetition and transparency, my logomark accurately portrays my fascination with perceived motion through visual aesthetics.

The second graphic element of my promotional piece displays an ASCII textured bear, which originated from my screen-printed clothing collection “MTOM.” For this project, I experimented with various approaches to code-style typography. Inspired by sports jerseys and vintage polo shirts. My design utilizes a combination of thin strokes and medium-sized fills. My goal was to design multiple graphics that could be printed both individually and collectively.

The combination of my logomark and the ASCII bear serve as the main elements of my promotional piece, displayed at SDSU’s School of Art and Design Senior Design Show. Each keychain contains three laser-cut acrylic accessories: my logomark scored, my logomark outlined, and the ASCII bear accompanied by an accurate ruler. My strong passion for the clothing industry inspired me to develop an item that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
